"Forget everything" originated as a grunge rock song I wrote for a short-lived band called Socialist Salesmen. It originally depicted a (fictional) groveling attempt to save a relationship falling apart.

As relationships grow, they get more complicated, and over the 5 years that followed its original writing, this song became more complicated and honest. I never want my relationships to fall apart, but sometimes I have intrusive thoughts about that happening.

I found it exciting to juxtapose those dark thoughts against a big triumphant dance beat; maybe it's because I enjoy irony and contrasts in music, or maybe it's because that dark thought may sometimes be an exciting thought for some of us.
